Studying in Australia has been a proven path to permanent residency for many former international students. Thus, the real question is ‘Which of the courses give you the best shot?’
In this blog, we’ve lined up the top 10 courses that match the skills Australia currently needs most, so you’re all set for PR success later on!
Get Your PR by Studying in Australia
To give you some motivation, the process for getting a PR via the student pathway is quite straightforward:
- Choose and complete a PR course:
A PR course is one that’s CRICOS registered and runs for at least two years. It must also lead you to a job that’s included in the ANZSCO job list after you graduate.
- Apply for a Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485).
With this visa, you can continue staying in Australia after graduation and gain work experience necessary to get a PR visa later on.
- Apply for an Australian working visa.
Having a few years of relevant work experience allows you to apply for working visas that can eventually lead to a permanent visa.
A popular choice is the independent skilled visa pathway, like subclasses 491, 189 and 190. Here, you’ll have to first calculate your PR points to see if you qualify for skilled migration.
Alternatively, you can go for employer-sponsored visas like the TSS, 494 and 186 visas.
